While I am grateful to netGalley for the ARC of this book, I am sad to say that I did not enjoy this at all. I was really looking forward to reading this which makes it all the more disappointing. The cover is pretty and I'm always interested in a modern day retelling of a fairy tale but this was painful to finish. I found the writing to be choppy, uninteresting and almost childlike in places. I didn't care for how "Izzie" was written at all and I found the modern day "plot" to be a bit overboard in the fantasy department. I also had the feeling during different parts of the story that I was reading a mix of "Firelight" and "The Mortal Instruments" books. The only thing I liked about this book was when Izzie and Branna were discussing classic couples like Romeo & Juliet and Izzie says, "My point is that when you fall in love, it's with a real person with flaws. Not with a perfect character from a fairy tale."
